BAC Home Loan Servicing LP: Bank of America’s Updated Verbal Authorizaiton Policy.

BAC Home Loan Servicing LP, the behemoth, has combined to become one of the largest loan servicers, if not THE largest loan servicer in the world. It doesn’t come though without changes. Week 2 of “Integration” brings on the new policy about authorizing 3rd parties verbally. While some companies such as IndyMac accept 7 day verbal authorizations it used to be for Bank of America and Countrywide that an authorization given verbally would only last for that phone call.

Now with new company structure comes some new company policies. In this case there is a new one day verbal authorization procedure that has come into play so authorizations given verbally will no last for an entire 24 hours.

Many times we use this for our clients in order to be able to briefly get some information in a crunch.

Wells Fargo Home Mortgage (ASC): What you say can be used against you!

Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and their sister division America’s Servicing company has just about totally illuminated all their counselors ability to put any thought into their job. They now have a system that diminishes the capability of the agent on the phone from adjusting a plan till it fits the clients needs to now strictly advising them of the plan it (the computer) feels is a best fit. As we have all seen those Sci-Fi movies where the computers take over this is similar case where the counselors just feed information into a computer and it spits out an answer.

Though this program may seem like a solution to the lender now we feel in the long run they will see the repercussion. The issue is that not everyone fits into a box. The box that the lender created even through it does adapt to the information being given one of the most important parts of the position is to debt counsel and offer the homeowner the alternatives and what they must do in order to qualify.

We have found for hundreds of our clients that a few changes can make all the difference between them qualify and their receiving a denial letter in the mail. If you know anyone that needs help have them speak to someone who can help.

Video: Bank Reform Bill Passed by House.

The bill that could change it all is on its to Congress finally having made it out of the House of Representative. Backed by Obama’s administration it is thought that this new regulator commission might be going just a step too far. Only time will tell but as this will create a new active sheriff called the “Consumer Financial Protection Agency” we’ll see how this all plays out. The agency will overview and regulate mortgages and credit cards which could possibly expand to more or all forms of consumer debt as time moves forward.

Sweeping bank reform bill clears House Measure, aimed at preventing another big financial crisis, imposes more oversight and creates consumer protection agency.

WASHINGTON (CNNMoney.com) — The House passed legislation Friday aimed at preventing the next big financial crisis, ushering in the most sweeping set of changes to the banking regulatory system since the New Deal.

The bill, which passed 223-202, imposes more oversight and stronger capital cushions for the largest banks and Wall Street firms. It forces them to pay a total of as much as $150 billion into an emergency fund that could be tapped when a troubled firm needs to be taken over and broken up.

The legislation also calls for the regulation of some derivatives and creates a new Consumer Financial Protection Agency to regulate products such as credit cards and mortgages.

“The bailouts of AIG and Bear Stearns would be not possible — made illegal — under this bill,” Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., chairman of the House Financial Committee, said Wednesday as debate started on the bill. “If a company fails, it’ll be put to death.”

The House rejected, by 223-208, an amendment that would have effectively killed the Consumer Financial Protection Agency, replacing it with a council of existing regulators.
